We present a new, unique and distinctive project carried out by Teanuanua, the official authorised Solé distributor in French Polynesia.

In 2020, the country's authorities requested the construction of a marine ferry to replace the Tapuae Manu 3, a ferry used to connect the islands of Moorea and Maiao to facilitate passenger access and freight transport.

The new vessel, christened Tapuae Manu 4, had a very important mission — to respond to the growing demand for passenger services in recent years, which could not be met by the previous Tapuae 3 which was limited to a capacity of 12 people, unlike the Tapuae 4 which can accommodate up to 30.

The Tapuae Manu 4 is a 16.50 metre long and 4.75 metre wide ferry. It weighs 1.5 tonnes and is designed to carry up to 30 passengers plus a crew of 5.

This is undoubtedly a very interesting project as this initiative has improved the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Moorea and Maiao Islands, who had serious limitations when it came to getting around.

The generator assembly chosen for this boat is the Solé 40 GTA, which is a three-phase assembly mounted on a Mitsubishi block and delivering a power of 39 kVA. With its characteristics and performance, it will cover all on-board power needs.

We would like to thank our Solé distributor, Teanuanua, for sharing this marvellous project with us and for their confidence in Solé Diesel.
